How to revive an old iron: the sole will shine
If you ignore the need to clean your iron for a long time, the consequences will not be long in coming.
The iron will glide poorly over the clothes, leaving behind stains and streaks.
To save money on purchasing a new device, you should warm up the device slightly or wait until the sole cools down to a comfortable temperature.
Then apply 9% acetic acid to a cotton pad and apply to the contaminated area for 30 seconds, then rub gently.
Don't be stingy with the cotton wool - as the discs become dirty, they should be changed to bring the entire surface back to normal.
This will not only remove fabric fibres stuck to the sole, but will also remove limescale deposits that form in the sole due to scale.
If the stains are old, increase the contact time with vinegar to 1.5-2 minutes.
Important: you should work with gloves, and you should also open the windows and put on a mask to avoid breathing in vinegar fumes.
