In many kitchens you can probably find kitchen utensils that were left over from our grandmothers.

In particular, we are talking about a metal sieve - products from Soviet times have always been famous for their quality, but due to the many small holes, it is not easy to clean them from pieces of food.

The same thing happens with metal tea strainers, which become covered with a dark coating over time.

Luckily, there is a quick and easy way to restore your kitchen helpers to their former glory.

To do this, you will need to mix 2 tablespoons of ammonia and 100 ml of water in a suitable container.

You should immerse a strainer in this solution and leave it for several hours (or better yet, overnight).

After soaking, all that remains is to wipe the metal mesh with an old toothbrush and rinse thoroughly under running water.

If the sieve is large, of course, the resulting volume of cleaning agent is not enough. In this case, you will need to dip a cotton swab into the ammonia solution and periodically wet the sieve, and then also clean it with a brush and rinse.
