There are many effective methods for dealing with clogged sinks without using expensive store-bought products.

The sink may become clogged, so the water does not drain, and the question arises as to how to solve the problem.

Available and cheap means will come to the rescue, which will cope no worse than the most expensive ones. If none of the methods help, then you can go to the store.

Strengthening

This method is relevant for metal pipes, but for plastic ones it can be dangerous.
Boil water, pour about 1 liter of boiling water into the drain hole and wait 20 minutes. If a plug or layer of fat forms, boiling water will help dissolve it.

Plunger

The most common method. In this case, close all the overflow holes in the sink, install a plunger on the drain hole, press firmly and pull sharply towards you. Repeat the procedure several times, and then turn on hot water to flush out the blockage.

Salt with soda

If water stagnates in the sink due to fat, you will need half a glass of salt and 1 glass of soda. Dissolve the ingredients in a glass of water and pour into the drain hole. Leave for 10 minutes, then use a plunger, open the hot water and drain.

Baking soda with vinegar

When these substances are combined, a chemical reaction occurs that can easily remove blockages. Pour 150 grams of soda into the hole and 150 ml of vinegar.

There should be a plug nearby, which you will need to quickly close the hole so that all the foam goes down. Wait a couple of minutes and open the hot water to flush the pipe.

Vacuum cleaner

If your vacuum cleaner has a blower function, then this method is ideal. Place the vacuum cleaner pipe on the drain, wrapping it in a rag beforehand to prevent holes. The powerful air will push out any debris stuck in the pipe.

Plumbing cable

If none of the methods helped, then the blockage is in an advanced state. Then a plumbing cable, which is sold in a hardware store, will come to the rescue.
This is a brush with a long and flexible handle. Insert the cable into the pipe and twist. After that, push the garbage into the sewer or pull it up. During the procedure, turn on the water from time to time. This option is more suitable for metal pipes.

Disassembling the sink siphon

If the plug won't come off, disassemble the siphon. It's where all the debris often collects.
