Chrome plumbing will shine like new: removing limescale

Not all folk remedies are effective against limescale that has covered the plumbing in the bathroom and kitchen.

Sometimes homemade compounds work, but they damage the surface of the taps.

Some housewives and bloggers advise cleaning chrome plumbing fixtures with baby oil or soap dissolved in water.

It is believed that the products remove dirt, are safe for the skin and do not emit a strong chemical smell.

However, experts are sure that soap will not remove limescale. Only an acidic product can do the job.

Soap will only help if you wash the plumbing every day, which is not entirely rational.

Household chemicals cope with the task perfectly. But some housewives are in no hurry to use caustic compounds.

Removing limescale is not difficult, so you can use a folk remedy. For this you will need table vinegar.

The product is diluted with water in a ratio of 1:2 and the surface of the plumbing is wiped. To prevent the solution from dripping, you can add a couple of drops of liquid soap.

The resulting solution is not washed off for 20 minutes. This time is enough for the vinegar to destroy the limescale. All that remains is to remove the solution with plain water and wipe the surface dry.
