To make your iron last longer, you need to choose the right ironing temperature for each type of fabric, otherwise, when cleaning the sole from stuck material, you can ruin the equipment.

We will tell you how you can clean the sole of your iron using improvised means without causing much harm.

It should be remembered that synthetic materials that melt when heated most often stick to the iron. They need to be ironed through a damp cloth (preferably cotton). But if the fabric has already stuck, then you need to clean it like this.

With salt

This is a fairly simple method. You just need to sprinkle salt on paper or an old towel and iron it with a hot iron until the stains disappear completely. When the salt darkens, it will need to be replaced.

Toothpaste

You need to heat up the iron, apply a little paste and rub it with a damp cloth into the dirty surface. Then you just need to remove the remaining paste with a napkin and wipe the iron with a flannel cloth.

Soda

You need to make a paste of soda and water. For this, 1 tablespoon of soda and ½ teaspoon of water is enough. Apply the paste to a cotton cloth and rub it into the stain on the iron with rotating movements.
