The freezer is a real lifesaver for housewives, which allows them to avoid bringing food products to a state where they can only be thrown away.
This applies not only to meat, fish or semi-finished products, but even to overseas fruits, including citrus fruits.
Before you stock up on tangerines for all the New Year holidays, you need to remember how to store them at home.
To say that tangerines need a certain atmosphere is to say nothing at all. It is not enough to just put them in the refrigerator. These should be conditions of 2-6 degrees Celsius with air humidity up to 80%.
If the temperature drops below 2 degrees Celsius (for example, at night on the balcony), then spots and stains will begin to appear on the skin, and then the vegetable will begin to spoil.
And if the process has begun, then there is nothing left to do but eat the fruit or freeze it.
It is best to divide them into slices immediately, place them in the freezer on a cutting board for an hour, and then put them in a bag or container.
Once defrosted, peeling citrus fruits will not be so easy.
Fruit slices will stay in the freezer for up to 6 months. Of course, the taste of defrosted tangerines will not be the same and the only benefit that such a preparation can bring is compote, jelly or ice cream.
