It is believed that night is the ideal period for charging a mobile device.

A sleeping person does not need to use a phone, so the gadget “quietly charges” for 7-9 hours straight.

Many users do the following: before going to bed, they connect the charger to the smartphone and leave the latter on the bedside table, or even on the bed.

But isn't it dangerous? Is it okay to sleep next to a charging phone? It turns out it's all quite complicated.

Is it okay to sleep next to a charging smartphone?

No, you can’t sleep next to a gadget that’s charging.

And it's not about the "radiation" from the device: the widespread belief that such a danger exists is controversial.

The problem is different: a charging smartphone can overheat and even catch fire. Especially if the device is lying on a soft surface: on a bed, on a pillow, or even under a pillow.

Even if you leave your phone charging on your bedside table, the security level will still not be minimal.

What if there is a short circuit? In this case, the sleeping person will most likely not see or hear anything. The risk of tragic consequences will increase significantly.

Therefore, do not sleep next to a charging phone. And in general, do not put your mobile phone on charge before going to bed. Charge the device during the periods when you are awake: so that you can monitor the state of the gadget to which the charger is connected.

Is it possible to sleep next to a smartphone?

So, we came to the conclusion that you can’t charge your mobile phone at night.

Is it possible in principle to leave your phone on your bedside table or on your bed before going to bed?

Can a smartphone that is not charging harm a sleeping user?

Oddly enough, it can. But again, we are not talking about radiation or “tissue overheating.”

Another harm is meant: a person can be woken up by a phone call and the sound of an incoming message.

In addition, some users have a habit of picking up their phone at the first opportunity. Many people are distracted by their mobile phone before going to bed and after waking up in the middle of the night. As a result, it is very difficult to get enough sleep.

Therefore, before you start your night's rest, do the following: put your mobile device away from your bed. The best option is to turn off sound notifications and leave your phone in another room. This will give you a better chance of getting a good night's sleep.

And use a “classic” alarm clock: then there will definitely be no need to put your smartphone on the bed or bedside table.
