The American company SpaceX, whose CEO is the famous entrepreneur Elon Musk, has completed the fifth test launch of the Super Heavy launch vehicle.

The flight was successfully completed.

Two serious results were achieved at once.

The first result of the tests was the lifting of the Starship spacecraft to a significant altitude and the splashdown of this apparatus in the ocean.

The second result is the controlled return of Super Heavy to Earth, TASS reports.

Details of the fifth test launch of Super Heavy

The flight duration was just over 60 minutes.

It is known that during the test, the Starship spacecraft rose to an altitude of 212 kilometers.

The ship then splashed down in the Indian Ocean. Moreover, the descent of the apparatus into the water occurred in a strictly designated square.

It is emphasized that this result was achieved despite certain difficulties that arose during the flight. Thus, problems with one of the flaps are known: the element overheated at the moment when the device entered the atmosphere.

After the ship landed, a bright flash was visible. There is no information yet about the reasons for its occurrence.

It is also worth emphasizing that during the test, SpaceX achieved the following major result for the first time: a controlled return of the Super Heavy launch vehicle to Earth. The aircraft descended from a height of more than 100 kilometers.

The rocket made a soft landing on a platform located at the Texas spaceport.
