On Wednesday, October 23, the third round of the overall UEFA Champions League ended.
One of the most exciting matches was between Barcelona and Bayern.
The result of the game can be called unexpected: the "blue garnets" defeated a team that they had not been able to beat for almost 10 years.
The final score was 4:1 in favor of the club from Catalonia, according to online sources.
Let us recall that the last time Barcelona won against Bayern was in the spring of 2015. In the subsequent six head-to-head matches, the team from Germany won.
The game was held at the Olympic Stadium in Barcelona.
The hosts opened the scoring in the first minute. The goal was scored by striker Rafinha.
The visitors equalised 17 minutes later thanks to a precise strike from Harry Kane.
However, before the break, Barcelona managed to take the lead again, and then strengthened their advantage. Robert Lewandowski scored in the 36th minute, and Rafinha in the 45th.
The latter, by the way, ended up being the author of a hat-trick. After all, in the second half he scored his third goal of the game.
Thus, the match ended with a score of 4:1 in favor of the Spanish club.
Now Barcelona, which stumbled at the very beginning of the general stage, occupies 10th place out of 36 in the tournament table, and Bayern is only 23rd. And the leaders are the English Aston Villa and Liverpool.
