The September football festival called the League of Nations continues. A tournament in which national teams participate.
In one of the central matches last Sunday, the Portuguese and the Scots clashed in Lisbon.
The hosts, thanks in large part to the efforts of the tireless Cristiano Ronaldo, defeated their opponents 2:1.
After this victory, the second in a row, Portugal scored 6 points and headed the Group 1 standings in Division A.
But for the Pyrenees, everything started rather depressingly. Already in the seventh minute of the match they conceded – a goal scored by Scott McTominay.
Only after the break did Portugal manage to recover and then snatch victory.
Bruno Fernandes equalized the score in the 54th minute, and Cristiano Ronaldo scored two minutes before the end of regular time.
By the way, the latter did not play the whole time – he came on as a substitute right after the break. And he came on very successfully.
Among other Sunday matches, we note Spain's crushing away victory over Switzerland (4:1), and more modest victories for Denmark and Croatia, who beat the Serbs (2:0) and the Poles (1:0), respectively.
Let us recall that the Belarusian team also celebrated a victory, beating Luxembourg with a score of 1:0.
The Bulgarians beat the Northern Ireland team with the same score, while the Slovaks scored two unanswered goals against the Azerbaijanis.
Sweden won a major victory over the Estonians (3:0), while Gibraltar and Liechtenstein played to a fighting draw (2:2).
