This is the first victory in the US Open final in the career of her compatriot.

Last year, Arina also reached the final stage of the competition, but lost to American Cori Gauff (now the third racket in the world).

This year, in the final on the New York court, she fought against another representative of the United States, Jessica Pegula.

The Belarusian, the world's second-ranked tennis player, defeated her opponent (ranked 6th in the world's best tennis players) in two sets.

As for the US Open, on her way to winning the title of the competition winner, the Belarusian defeated another American, Emma Navarro (12), before reaching the final.

In the previous 1/2 stages, Sabalenka beat Chinese Xingwen Zhen (7), Belgian Elise Mertens (35), and Russian Ekaterina Alexandrova (31).
