According to preliminary forecasts, winter in Belarus will be mild.
This was reported by Olga Baklanova, head of the climate change study department of the meteorological and climate monitoring service, Belhydromet data fund.
According to forecasts by European climatologists, this winter in Belarus will be warm and practically snowless. The polar vortex, which determines winter temperatures, was the weakest since 1981 last month.
Russian weather forecasters also recently released a forecast for this winter.
According to these data, the three upcoming winter months in Belarus will generally be within the climate norm, Baklanova said in an interview with sb.by.
According to her, the average winter temperature in the country is now -3.4 degrees.
If we take the last 5 years, the temperature exceeds the norm by 1.2-1.8 degrees, added the Belhydromet representative.
