On December 8, two powerful flares occurred on the Sun.
In addition, almost 30 medium-class outbreaks were registered on December 7-8.
TASS reported this with reference to the solar activity monitoring center and the Solar Astronomy Laboratory of the IKI and ISTP.
According to the solar activity monitoring center, the first flare, which reached class M3.2, was recorded at 01:15 Moscow time, the second, which reached class X2.3, was recorded at 12:06 Moscow time.
According to the Solar Astronomy Laboratory of IKI and ISTP, almost 30 medium-class C flares occurred on the Sun on December 7-8.
They clarified that there will most likely be no magnetic storm.
For now, the detectors are silent, so most likely nothing will happen, the scientists said.
Solar flares are divided into 5 classes: A, B, C, M and X. Typically, solar flares cause emissions of solar plasma, clouds of which, reaching the Earth, can lead to magnetic storms.
