Important information for Belarusians living in dormitories has been received from the country's government.
The Council of Ministers has amended the Regulation on dormitories and the standard contract for the rental of residential premises of the state housing stock in a dormitory.
The document (number 942 dated December 10 of this year) was published on the republic’s legal internet portal.
The resolution stipulates the procedure for compensating losses of state organizations related to the maintenance of dormitories and not reimbursed by citizens living in them.
It is stated that the losses are compensated by those budgetary organizations whose employees and their family members live in the dormitory.
Compensation must be carried out at the expense of such organizations - “in proportion to the area of occupied residential premises.”
If the places are received upon request, then compensation is provided by other organizations whose employees occupy them.
Compensation may also be obtained through other sources, unless prohibited by law.
And in this case, compensation must also be “proportional to the area of the occupied residential premises.”
If disabled Belarusians (pensioners or disabled persons of the first and second groups) live in the rooms, the losses are compensated by local executive and administrative bodies at the expense of local budgets.
As for the costs associated with the maintenance of booked rooms in the hostel, they are paid from local budgets before the conclusion of the rental agreement.
In this context, losses include expenses for the provision of housing and communal services, electricity for lighting auxiliary premises and the operation of equipment, including elevators.
The government decree will come into force on January 1, 2025.
