It's almost mid-November outside. It's become uncomfortable, grey, cold.
And although we have long been accustomed to this before the onset of winter, many still need help.
It is during this period that social workers switch to active mode in preparation for the arrival of winter.
The press service of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Belarus reported this on its official Telegram channel.
The agency named the category of compatriots who are given increased attention during the cold weather.
First of all, specialists take care of lonely elderly citizens, as well as disabled people living in rural areas.
According to the Ministry of Labor, there are currently 151,400 single disabled citizens in Belarus.
What kind of help do they get? This includes cleaning the area around the house, preparing firewood for the winter, and helping to light the stove.
By the way, the latter, like all the wiring in the house, are under special control.
But social workers don't just help physically. Since pensioners often need communication, they are the ones with whom they can have a heart-to-heart talk.
The ministry reported that Belarusians, if they need such assistance, can contact territorial social service centers.
