An employee does not have the right to refuse to transfer the working day.
The press service of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Belarus reminded about this on Telegram.
According to the Labor Code, it is prohibited to work on public holidays and declared non-working holidays, but there are exceptions.
The employer formalizes the assignment of employees to work on a day off by an order (instruction).
The terms of compensation are also specified there. For each hour of work on a weekend/holiday, an additional payment is due.
In case of time-based wages – not lower than hourly wage rates (salaries), in case of piece-based wages – not lower than piece-rates.
You can be busy no more than 12 days off per year.
The Council of Ministers establishes shifts in working hours. They are mandatory, but only apply to those employed in a 5-day workweek with days off on Saturday and Sunday.
An employee cannot refuse to transfer the working day.
If the employee was sick or on vacation on the rescheduled day, he or she does not need to work on Saturday.
The Ministry of Labor also reminded that labor leave cannot be issued from a public holiday.
