Senior researcher at the mycology laboratory of the Institute of Experimental Botany of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Sergei Korinyak told us where and how to store currency so that it does not get moldy.

How to protect currency from mold

As Korinyak explained, currency should be stored in a dry, dark place with optimal humidity.

You shouldn’t hide your stash under the bathtub or in glass jars in the kitchen, the expert warned.

You also cannot store currency in a cabinet if it is in contact with a freezing wall.

As for what to pack the currency in, a paper envelope is best suited for this.
