During this long weekend, the State Traffic Inspectorate of Belarus has stepped up its control over drivers and pedestrians.
Law enforcement officers are focused on preventing gross violations by road users, especially at night.
The press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic reported this on its official Telegram channel.
It is noted that increased attention is paid to the timely identification of drunk drivers and pedestrians, as well as those without a license.
The ministry reminded that on holidays and weekends the number of accidents committed under the influence increases significantly.
In connection with this, the State Traffic Inspectorate is conducting a preventive event until November 11, “There is no place for a drunk or disenfranchised person on the road,” the report says.
Law enforcement officers are asking Belarusians who know of a drunk driver, cyclist or pedestrian to call 102.
The department also points out that this weekend, the settlements and roads of the Brest and Grodno regions are being worked by the special traffic police unit "Strela".
Drivers are advised to prepare their cars for winter use during this period.
In particular, they advise changing summer tires to winter tires, as well as replacing technical fluids.
