The Russian State Duma has proposed paying pensioners a 13th pension annually.

This initiative was put forward by Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Boris Chernyshov.

What does Chernyshov propose regarding the 13th pension?

As the Deputy Speaker of the State Duma told MIA "Russia Today" , the draft law he prepared on the annual 13th pension does not lose its relevance.

He recalled that the bill did not receive support the first time, and said that he plans to revise it.

And re-introduce it before the end of the year, ” Chernyshov said.

According to the Deputy Speaker of the State Duma, the bill is relevant, since the country has been recording high inflation for the second year in a row.

He noted that the rise in wages partly compensates for inflation, but the incomes of the least protected segments of the population are not keeping up with the rise in prices.

The amendments, the deputy clarified, will concern the size of the pension – it will be the same for everyone.
