In Belarus, a renovated section (length – 15 kilometers) of the M3 Minsk-Vitebsk highway was opened.

We are talking about the section of highway from Logoisk to Pleshchenitsy in the Minsk region.

As Belta reports , the deputy head of the republic’s government, Anatoly Sivak, took part in the ceremony.

According to him, the reconstruction of this route is an important project for the development of the entire domestic transport infrastructure.

He also reported that a new international transport corridor is currently being created, which will provide the shortest route from Minsk to the ports of St. Petersburg.

As for the section from Logoisk to Pleshchenitsy, a cement concrete surface was laid there.

The road was widened to four lanes and meets the parameters of the first category.

In addition, a 30-kilometer section of the R46 Lepel - Polotsk - Russian border highway was reconstructed.

The reconstructed section of the M3 is part of the 5,300 km of roads that have been repaired, reconstructed, and modernized in the country this year, Sivak noted.

According to his data, the laid concrete pavement can be used for a quarter of a century without major repairs or even routine repairs.

This is only part of the international corridor. Work continues, currently in the Pleshchenitsy area. Certain volumes are also planned for next year, the Deputy Prime Minister added.
