Procedure for assigning sick leave: everything an employee needs to know

This summer, the procedure for assigning sick leave has changed in Belarus.

The press service of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection reminded about the main innovations in Telegram.

How the procedure for assigning sick leave has changed

The minimum amount of sick leave is now calculated based on the minimum wage (626 rubles).

If the length of service with payment of contributions to the Social Security Fund is 10 years or more, sick leave is paid in the amount of 100% of lost earnings from the first day of illness; less than 10 years – 80%.

The calculation includes all payments on which insurance contributions to the Social Security Fund are accrued for social insurance for all employers, including former ones, in the billing period.

Sick leave is assigned only at the main place of work, but earnings from all employers are taken into account.

At the place of part-time work, sick leave may be assigned only in the absence of the main place of work. In this case, sick leave is assigned only at one of the places of work at the employee's choice (taking into account earnings from all places of work).

The right to receive sick leave is determined on the condition of incapacity for work at all places of work.

Previously, sick leave was assigned only to those places of work where the employee provided a document confirming temporary disability.
