Alexander Lukashenko sent condolences to his Iranian counterpart Masoud Pezeshkian.
The President of Belarus expressed his condolences in connection with the tragedy at the coal mine in the city of Tabas, where about three dozen people died as a result of a gas explosion.
Another 17 injured citizens were hospitalized, and 24 miners are considered missing.
The cause of the incident is said to be a gas explosion that occurred in the mine.
Alexander Lukashenko notes that Belarus “received the news with deep pain and sadness” about the victims as a result of the emergency at the Iranian mine.
On behalf of the Belarusian people and myself personally, I express my sincere condolences to the relatives of the victims, as well as wishes for a speedy recovery to the victims, the head of state’s press service quotes the message as saying.
