Giant asteroids are approaching the Earth, potentially posing a threat to the inhabitants of the blue planet.
Two huge space rocks, comparable in size to New York's famous Empire State Building, will soon fly close to Earth's orbit.
This was reported by MIA "Russia Today" with reference to the publication Newsweek, which in turn refers to information from NASA.
These space bodies are called 2007 JX2 and 2020 XR. Their sizes are 402.3 meters and 387.7 meters, respectively.
Scientists say the asteroids are comparable in size to the Empire State Building (381 meters) in New York.
Space rocks are expected to fly past the human planet on December 3 and 4.
Experts have calculated that 2007 JX2 will pass at a distance of approximately 5.5 million km from Earth, and 2020 XR – a little more than 2 million kilometers.
NASA experts classify dangerous space bodies as objects with a diameter of over 140 meters that approach the Earth at a distance of 7.5 million km.
