At a press conference, the press secretary of the Ministry of Forestry, Anastasia Matskevich, spoke about which New Year trees Belarusians choose most often.

As the press secretary of the Ministry of Forestry said, most Belarusians choose the common spruce.
However, for several years in a row, residents of the Gomel region prefer pine.
Also, the demand for Christmas trees in tubs is growing every year.
Despite the fact that the mass work of Christmas tree markets has not yet begun in all regions (the institutions of the Ministry of Forestry will begin large-scale trade this coming weekend), over 4,000 New Year trees have already been sold.
The main part is in Minsk, whose residents purchased about 2,500 trees.
We are seeing quite high demand this year, ” Matskevich noted.
According to her, Belarusians buy 140-145 thousand New Year trees every year.
This figure is quite stable, the agency representative added.
