Golovchenko explained to Belarusians why January 3 will be a working day

As is known, Belarusians will not be able to rest for a week without interruption this New Year.

And it could have been so. But they decided to make January 3 a working day. Why? The answer was given by the Prime Minister of the Republic Roman Golovchenko.

On air on the First Information Channel, he said that he does not consider this issue to be a problem.

"Not in those conditions"

After all, a week is practically a complete relaxation or freeze of the economy. We are not in the conditions now to afford such a long vacation, - explained the head of government.

At the same time, he noted that each enterprise has the right to independently make a decision on this matter, based on production goals.

As an example, Golovchenko cited the following situation: the organization is working “at a feverish pace.”

This means she has to stop production for a day and then restart the equipment.

It is probably not very cost-effective. But we cannot make such a break for the budget sector, the head of the Council of Ministers emphasized.

Optimal solution

According to him, the first days of January are “the so-called final budget turnovers.”

People work there almost around the clock, because all those payments that are paid for by budget funds need to be made. This is a lot of work, the prime minister said.

And from the point of view of observing the work and rest schedule, he noted, it is not very good when we rest for a week and then work for two weeks in a row with one day off.

Golovchenko believes that the most optimal decision has been made for the country’s economy.

For reference

A working day is a regular working day of the working week, as opposed to weekends and holidays.
