Fraudsters' victims committed more than 10 arsons and explosions in Moscow and the region in one day
In Moscow and the region, over the past 24 hours, more than 10 cases of ATM arson or pyrotechnic explosions in public places have been registered.
In each case, the offenders were victims of telephone scammers, law enforcement officials say.
Victims of telephone scammers, on the instructions of the criminals, committed more than 10 arson attacks on ATMs and explosions of pyrotechnic products, TASS reports, citing law enforcement agencies.
The data was collected over the past 24 hours and only in Moscow and the Moscow region.
It is noted that in addition to ATM arsonists, there are now “bombers”.
The latter launched fireworks and exploded firecrackers in shopping malls and public places.
All violators of public order have been detained.
During the investigation it was established that the detainees were acting on behalf of telephone scammers.
At the same time, law enforcement agencies note that there are many elderly people among those detained.
Each incident is investigated, after which the actions of the violators will be given a legal assessment.
According to experts, even if illegal acts were committed on the instructions of fraudsters, this does not exempt from liability.
The initiation of criminal cases cannot be ruled out.
