Formation of a people's militia, confrontation with saboteurs awaits Vitebsk region
Very soon – on September 27 (Friday) – a command and staff exercise will start in the Vitebsk region.
It will be held until September 30 (Monday) with territorial defense management bodies.
The event will be led by the Head of the Territorial Defense Department – Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Belarus.
The press service of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic reported this on its official telegram channel.
The department says the goal of the exercise is to improve the skills of officials from management bodies in leading subordinate forces.
The second goal is to train personnel of territorial troops units to perform their duties in solving territorial defense tasks.
It is said that special attention during this period will be paid to the following points:
– counteraction to enemy sabotage groups;
– protection of important facilities and ensuring law and order in the region;
- formation of people's militia units.
According to the ministry, officials from regional executive committees and military registration and enlistment offices will be recruited as trainees.
Representatives of territorial internal affairs bodies and military personnel of the territorial troops of the Vitebsk and Orsha districts will also be involved.
