It recently became known that five complaints from Belarusians are under consideration by the Constitutional Court.

The head of the Constitutional Court, Petr Miklashevich, reported this following a personal meeting with citizens, their representatives and representatives of legal entities.

He recalled that the updated Constitution granted compatriots the right to appeal to the Constitutional Court with a constitutional complaint.

If people believe that the law applied in a specific case violates their legal rights and interests established by the Constitution, then they have the right to appeal to the Constitutional Court, which will verify the constitutionality of a particular provision of the law , Belta quotes Miklashevich as saying.

He noted that at today’s reception there were no appeals that could be classified as “constitutional complaints.”

In general, by this point, the Constitutional Court, according to him, “has received an insignificant number of appeals that, according to the criteria, are constitutional complaints.”

Currently, 5 complaints are under consideration by the Constitutional Court, they are being studied, and appropriate decisions will be made in the future in accordance with the law, Miklashevich said.
