In the Belarusian city of Bobruisk, cakes containing a dangerous synthetic dye were discovered on sale.
We are talking about a local product called “Red Velvet,” reports the press service of the Mogilev Regional Inspectorate of the State Standard.
During the inspection, specialists discovered that these confectionery products did not comply with the requirements of the technical regulations of the Customs Union.
They did not meet the requirements in terms of safety and labeling (providing reliable information about the composition of the product).
The products contained synthetic dyes not declared by the manufacturer in the labeling - E110, E129, E124, Belta quotes the department’s statement.
It is noted that the content of these dyes in the combination was exceeded by one and a half times.
The dangerous cakes have been withdrawn from sale, the State Standard noted.
