Belarusians will not submit biometric data at Moscow airports

From December 1, foreigners entering the Russian Federation through Moscow airports will be required to submit biometric data.

Citizens of Belarus are exempt from this procedure.

This is stated in a commentary from the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

As reported by the Russian Foreign Ministry, the Russian government has adopted a resolution on conducting an experiment to test the rules and conditions for entry and exit of foreigners.

The experiment is being conducted with the aim of creating a state information resource “Digital Profile of a Foreigner”.

The experiment will be conducted in two stages. From December 1 of this year to June 30 of next year, biometric data of foreigners will be collected at Moscow airports and the Mashtakovo automobile checkpoint in the Orenburg region.

In the second stage, which will take place from June 30 next year to June 30, 2026, foreigners entering visa-free will also need to register in the unified identification and authentication system and submit an application for entry through the State Services mobile application.

The experiment will not affect Belarusians; children under 6 years of age; diplomats and their family members; officials of international organizations and their family members; holders of service and diplomatic passports entering as part of delegations or in connection with the performance of official duties, and their family members.
