Many Belarusians are interested in whether it is possible to register rental apartments received by their relatives as official property?

Another question that is often asked is: can those on the waiting list apply for housing with state support earlier than the deadline?

Answers to these questions were given during a citizen’s reception by Deputy Head of the Minsk City Hall Alexander Chernikov.

Rental apartments

As reported by the Minsk-Novosti agency, one woman asked: can she register the rental apartment that her grandfather received as a service apartment while working for the Belarusian Railways?

This housing is in the municipal property of the city, so it will not be possible to register it in your name, the official replied.

According to him, the lease agreement is concluded for a period of no more than 5 years and can be extended if the conditions specified in the document are met.

If the employer leaves, the contract can be extended with members of his family who live there.

Early receipt of housing

Another visitor reported that she had been registered as someone in need of better housing conditions since 2015.

In this regard, I asked: can she receive housing with state support ahead of schedule?

Citizens without referrals from district administrations can apply for 119 apartments in a multi-story building in Loshitsa. Applications will be accepted starting December 19, Chernikov replied.

And he added: the house on Makaenka Street will be built under approximately the same conditions.

In other words, from time to time “options for those on the waiting list without referrals” appear; the relevant information is available on the website of the Minsk City Executive Committee.

By the way, today in the capital there are 172,000 families registered as needing better housing conditions.

First and foremost, housing is provided to large families and citizens with benefits.
