Let's imagine a situation: a person falls ill during a vacation or just before it starts.
Yes, it is unpleasant. But the citizen should not worry about the fact that the vacation will be "wasted."
After all, vacation days will not be “lost.” There are several possible solutions.
The relevant information is presented in the Telegram channel of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Belarus.
In such a situation, the employee must contact the employer and explain the current situation.
Illness during a work vacation is a reason for extending the period of release from work. Thus, the vacation can be extended for the number of days that the person was on sick leave.
There is also this option: if the employee wants, the unused part of the vacation due to illness can be transferred to another date. But there are two points: first, the dates must be agreed upon with the employer. Second, the transferred part of the vacation must fall within the current working year.
In this case, the employee, again, must contact the employer. The latter must be notified of the reasons that prevent the use of leave during the period for which the rest period was previously planned.
If the illness manifests itself before the start of the planned vacation, the latter must be rescheduled for another time within the current working year. The exact dates must be agreed upon by the employer and employee.
