What the Ministry of Labor said about equalizing labor guarantees for mothers and fathers

As the deputy minister explained, over the course of several years, adjustments have been made to labor legislation in order to equalize labor guarantees for mothers and fathers.

A paternity leave of up to 14 calendar days has been introduced, granted during the first six months after the birth of a child.

If earlier the norm was advisory, now it is mandatory, Kovalkov noted.

A father raising a disabled child can now take work leave at a time convenient for him.

Guarantees for both parents include parental leave and a tax deduction for raising minor children.

The plans include providing fathers of disabled children with more comfortable conditions for exercising their right to early retirement.

In addition, if there are two children under 16 in a family, one parent can take one day off per month.

If there are three children under 16 or a disabled child in the family, one day off per week is provided. Or the working day can be shortened by an hour.
