The sanitary and epidemiological service is working at Brest Lyceum No. 1 after students were hospitalized with norovirus.

What measures are being taken at Brest Lyceum No. 1

As reported by the Ministry of Health, the sanitary and epidemiological service and infectious disease specialists are carrying out a range of sanitary, anti-epidemic and medical measures in the educational institution.

Final disinfection of the food block was carried out; samples of food products and the school environment were taken for laboratory testing; all personnel were examined; control over the quality of cleaning, organization of meals, students' personal hygiene, etc. was strengthened.

The department emphasized that the situation in the institution is under constant monitoring by the regional sanitary and epidemiological service.

As reported, 14 students from grades 9-11 of the said lyceum were hospitalized in the infectious diseases departments of the Brest Regional Hospital.

All hospitalized patients have symptoms of acute intestinal infection; norovirus has been confirmed in the laboratory.

The condition of all patients is moderate, stable, with positive dynamics.

As noted by the Ministry of Health, the hospital has the necessary medications, and all diagnostic examination methods are fully accessible.
