Ukraine will receive almost five dozen Abrams tanks from Australia.
But there is an important nuance: we are talking about decommissioned combat vehicles.
This was reported by ABC television company, TASS reports.
According to Australian media, Canberra plans to transfer 49 M1A1 Abrams tanks to Kyiv.
The combat vehicles are obsolete.
Some of the tanks that Australia intends to hand over to the Ukrainian side need to be repaired, ABC TV channel employees emphasized.
It is emphasized that combat vehicles can be “used for spare parts.”
Despite information in foreign media that the tanks are outdated, Australian government spokesman Pat Conroy stated the following: the combat vehicles will provide the Ukrainian army with considerable firepower and mobility.
Russian state leader Vladimir Putin has repeatedly drawn attention to the following point: the supply of Western weapons to Ukraine will not lead to a change in the situation on the front, but will only hinder the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict.
