Belarusian doctors may soon have AI assistants.
Currently, such a scientific and practical project is being tested in the Grodno emergency hospital.
This was reported by BELTA with reference to the head of the supervisory board of the Research Institute of Digital Economy, AI and Information Security, an expert in the field of design and security of highly loaded IT systems in construction and medicine, Andrei Gorovenko.
As Gorovenko said, the Grodno Emergency Hospital is currently testing the development of the Telemed AI laboratory, created by the MarSoyuz engineering association on the basis of the Grodno Technopark and the hospital. There are plans to implement this development at other facilities.
The AI assistant does everything for the doctor that does not relate to his medical work: asks the patient about his medical history, summarizes information about complaints and tests, etc.
According to the expert, there are three AI assistants in total.
The second of them, the AI pharmacologist, is activated when the doctor makes appointments, Gorovenko said.
The third AI assistant is a clinical protocol specialist who reminds the doctor of the need to complete certain steps and gives hints.
