The head of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Belarus, Natalia Pavlyuchenko, announced changes in payments for large families and parents of disabled children.
The adjustments are provided for in the draft decree on social support, which was supported by the president.
As Pavlyuchenko reported to the president following the results of her report, it is planned to adjust the requirements for the length of service of mothers who are raising four or more children, and to change the amount of social pensions for parents of disabled children.
The latter measure, according to the minister, is in great demand in society; there have been a number of appeals to the Ministry of Labor and the Council of the Republic.
As the head of the Ministry of Labor explained, now families with a disabled child are assigned only one pension in the event of the death of one of the parents - either for the loss of a breadwinner or a social pension.
For such families, it is proposed to make an exception and establish an increase in social pensions.
That is, in total such a family will receive up to 1,000 rubles per month, BELTA quotes Pavlyuchenko as saying.
Another innovation concerns early retirement for parents of disabled children.
It is now legally established that this right is granted to a mother raising a disabled child alone.
There are cases when a disabled child is raised by a father. We equalize the rights of mothers and fathers, the minister said.
