In Belarus, they have supported and will continue to support pensioners.
This was announced on October 15 by the country's President Alexander Lukashenko while hearing a report on improving social support for the population.
The head of state's statement is quoted by his press service .
Deputy Prime Minister Igor Petrishenko, Minister of Labor and Social Protection Natalia Pavlyuchenko, Minister of Finance Yuri Seliverstov, head of the FPB Yuri Senko, and Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration Alexander Egorov were invited to report to the president.
One of the issues was support for pensioners. Lukashenko recalled that pensions were raised twice this year – by 10% and 5%.
We have supported and will continue to support pensioners. They should live normally, the president emphasized.
The head of state noted that some pensioners want to work.
What's wrong with that? If a person wants to, he should be given the opportunity to work, Lukashenko added.
