A number of innovations aimed at supporting pensioners have been developed in Belarus.
In particular, Belarusians of retirement age may be exempted from paying one of the taxes.
BELTA reports this.
Firstly, pensioners may be exempted from paying one of the taxes. This is provided for in the draft amendments to the Tax Code.
It is proposed to supplement it with an article providing for tax benefits for keeping dogs.
Citizens who have reached retirement age and persons entitled to early retirement may be exempt from paying the tax for owning one dog.
Secondly, a law was passed regulating issues of military pension provision.
According to the document, pension payments will continue to military pensioners of countries participating in international treaties and members of their families who were assigned pensions in Belarus during the period of validity of these treaties.
Military pensioners discharged from military service in the USSR or Belarus will have the right to receive a pension and continue to receive it if they leave the country for permanent residence.
The law also establishes additional categories of citizens who are paid pensions for six months in advance, with payments then cessation.
