A huge plasma cloud is approaching the Earth – the prognosis is extremely unfavorable

The day before, another flare occurred on the Sun, which resulted in the release of a huge amount of plasma. Usually, magnetic storms begin on Earth after such events.

According to experts, the storm will begin in the middle of the day. The forecast is extremely unfavorable.

Sergey Bogachev, head of the Laboratory of Solar Astronomy at the Space Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences, told us what to expect after the solar flares that have occurred.

An extremely unfavorable geomagnetic forecast for the next two days has been formed based on the results of modeling the latest major solar flares, MIA " Russia Today " quotes the expert's statement.

According to observations, the flare that occurred the day before corresponded to the X1.8 level.

The process was accompanied by a plasma emission, which was described as “exceptionally high-speed.”

This emission will approach Earth at midday today.

The specialist also noted that the recent powerful emission of level X9.1 only touched the Earth with its edge.

Therefore, it did not cause any significant changes in the planet's geomagnetic field.

This time the cloud is "exceptionally large in size", so there will be no way to avoid consequences.

According to forecasts, a level 5 (highest) storm is possible, which can be compared to the events of May 2024.
