Next year, the tax on the first apartment may increase in Belarus.
This is provided for in the draft amendments to the Tax Code.
The document was published on the National Legal Internet Portal.
According to the draft document, from January 1 of next year, the cost per square meter for calculating the tax on the first apartment may increase by more than 5%.
The tax amount depends on the area of the apartment and is calculated at a rate of 0.1% of the cost per square meter.
This indicator, in turn, depends on the region. The highest cost is in Minsk.
If the changes are adopted in the capital, the estimated cost per square meter could increase from 968 to 1,020 rubles.
The tax on the first apartment is not paid by pensioners, disabled persons of the first and second groups, large families and some other categories of citizens.
Also, the above-mentioned categories of citizens are exempt from paying land tax.
Pensioners and disabled people are entitled to benefits only for one apartment.
