On October 2, the Orthodox Church honors the memory of the holy martyr Zosima of Cilicia and the holy martyrs Savvaty, Dorimedon and Trophimus.
In the folk calendar, October 2 is Trofim and Zosima, Trofimov Day, Trofimov Evenings, and Bee Nine.
According to folk signs, on Trofimov Day you can find out what the winter will be like.
If the aspen leaves lie face up on the ground, the winter will be harsh.
Also, the winter will be cold if the bees tightly seal the entrance.
Thunder on Trofimov's Day foretells a snowless winter.
If there are a lot of acorns, there will be a lot of bread next year.
