On the first day of October 2024, Belarusians were informed that they would not have access to the popular Russian online resource okko.tv.
The same one where TV series, films, talk shows, and sporting events are shown.
Live broadcasts include matches of European football cups (such as the Champions League and the Europa League), national teams (Nations League), etc.
In addition, they also show live matches of the English Premier League, the French Championship, and some other national championships.
The decision to restrict access was made by the Ministry of Information of Belarus, as reported by its press service on its official Telegram channel.
The agency cites “violation of Article 38 of the Law on Mass Media” as the reason for restricting access.
It is specified that this concerns the posting on the specified network resource of “prohibited information aimed at promoting violence and cruelty.”
