October has arrived. Its first day in Belarus brought good news for pensioners.
The fact is that, as was announced earlier, on October 1, all types of labor pensions were increased in the country.
The press service of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection reported this on its official Telegram channel.
The agency reminded that the amounts of pension payments based on age, length of service, disability, and loss of a breadwinner have become larger.
It is noted that as a result of the recalculation, the size of the labor pension increased by an average of five percent.
Attention is also drawn to the fact that this is already the second increase in pensions this year.
The first time pensions were increased in 2024 was on February 1, when the increase was an average of ten percent.
According to preliminary estimates by experts, the average old-age pension in October will be 852 rubles.
And the annual increase – since October of last year – has been recorded at the level of 115 rubles, that is, pensions have grown by 15.6% during this time, the Ministry of Labor noted.
As previously reported, the size of the increase in pension payments for each pensioner depends on the length of service and level of earnings (taken into account when calculating the pension), as well as on additional payments to the basic pension.
By the way. According to official statistics, currently over 2.3 million citizens in Belarus receive labor pensions.
