Alexander Lukashenko congratulated older Belarusians on the Day of Older Persons.
He said that the work of those who survived the Great Patriotic War and raised the country from ruins is the “foundation of the national wealth” of the republic.
The text of the congratulatory message, released by the press service of the head of state, notes that the addressees of the message “built cities and erected enterprises.”
These people also “restored agriculture, taught children, achieved sporting victories, and made scientific discoveries.”
And many of them are still active today: they continue to work and participate in the social and political life of the country.
In addition, many older citizens “educate the youth, generously sharing their wisdom and experience.”
According to the President, Belarusians always treat their elders with respect.
This is precisely why, notes Alexander Lukashenko, caring for the elderly and veterans has been and will be among the priorities of Belarus’ social policy.
He wished them health, inexhaustible energy and endless warmth from the attention of loved ones.
