Lida border guards forcibly landed an unmanned aerial vehicle on the border with Lithuania.
The press service of the State Border Committee of Belarus reported this on Telegram.
Yesterday, servicemen of the Lida border detachment in the Voronovsky district, 100 meters from the border with Lithuania, discovered a multicopter.
Using standard weapons, it was forced to land.
An administrative process has been initiated against the drone owners, and operational investigative measures are being carried out to establish all the circumstances of the illegal activity.
The State Prosecutor's Office reminded that, as of April 1, the import, manufacture, circulation, storage, and operation of UAVs and the use of the country's airspace without the appropriate permission are prohibited.
In addition, illegal maintenance and use of UAVs in the border zone or border strip is a violation of border regulations and entails administrative liability in the form of a fine of up to 50 base units.
