Belarus and Russia want to launch specialized tourist information centers (TIC) of the Union State.
In the Russian Federation, such a facility will operate in Smolensk, but in Belarus, a specific city has not yet been selected.
Deputy head of the Ministry of Sports and Tourism of the Republic Oleg Andreychik recently made such a statement, writes Belta.
According to him, within the framework of the discussion of the project, it is proposed to “promote on a parity basis the tourism potential that exists in the territory of the two countries.”
Among other things, the parties are considering the question of which Belarusian city to open a TIC in.
As for Smolensk, Deputy Head of the Ministry of Economy of the Russian Federation Dmitry Vakhrukov stated that the project for this location is in the final stage.
We are currently defending a project in the Union State Commission in order to finance the construction of the center from these sources,” the official said.
And he added: in general, we have “agreed” on all issues; only the details remain.
After the final details have been agreed upon, the creation of the “iconic object” will begin, Vakhrukov said.
