On the eve of National Unity Day, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko signed another decree on pardon.
The document provides for the pardon of 37 people convicted of extremist crimes.
The press service of the head of state reported this.
The decree provides for the pardon of 37 people convicted of extremist crimes, including six women.
Some of those pardoned are pensioners, disabled people, or have chronic illnesses.
This is another gesture of humanism on the part of the state towards those who have stumbled, the presidential press service noted in its commentary to the decree.
All those pardoned repented and asked to be given the opportunity to return to freedom and lead a law-abiding life.
It is noted that the petitions were additionally studied by a commission led by Prosecutor General Andrei Shved.
