The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus has updated the requirements for passport photographs.
The requirements for the procedure for working with a citizen’s identity document have also been adjusted.
The innovations are set out in the Ministry of Internal Affairs Resolution No. 251 of July 12 of this year (“On the procedure for organizing work with the passport of a citizen of the Republic of Belarus”).
The National Legal Internet Portal reports this, noting that the resolution came into force on September 15.
This document establishes technical requirements for photographs for the passport of a citizen of Belarus.
In particular, it stipulates that the person being photographed for a passport must not wear a hat.
Also, you cannot perform this procedure in uniform or wearing sunglasses.
However, the last restriction (glasses) does not apply to visually impaired people.
In addition, it is required that the image in the photo corresponds to the age of the person being photographed at the time of submitting the documents.
The same resolution approved the instructions on the operating procedures of the citizenship and migration departments of the internal affairs agencies, the Center for Personalization of Documents of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Bureau of Population Passportization of the Internal Affairs Directorates of the regional executive committees.
The instructions concern the organization of work on filling out the passport form of a citizen of Belarus, making notes on it, issuing, recording, exchanging, recognizing as invalid, confiscating, storing, and destroying the passport.
