On Thursday, September 12, the first multimedia portal in the country, VIDEOBEL.BY, was launched in Belarus.
Its creation is due to the fact that the country, as Belta CEO Irina Akulovich reported, is “being attacked from all sides.”
She suggested that the trend could intensify with the 2025 presidential elections.
Our media are currently operating on a foreign hosting service, which is a minefield. Not only individual materials are blocked there, but entire channels as well, the telegraph agency quotes the specialist as saying.
According to her, the West is taking all available measures to block “channels of receipt of truthful information about Belarus.”
We are being cut from Facebook, TikTok, our YouTube channels can be blocked at any moment. We do not control this space, - Akulovich explained.
The portal launched today is essentially an analogue of YouTube, where content from leading domestic media outlets is presented.
Akulovich named the portal’s ease of use as its competitive advantage.
All content from leading Belarusian media outlets will be collected in one place, so viewers and readers will not have to go from site to site in search of information, she explained.
Added: there will be formats such as streams, live broadcasts, daily selections of the TOP-5 most important news.
By visiting just one resource, the user will be able to get the most complete picture of events, and viewed from different angles, the CEO noted.
According to her, another convenience is that all video materials are accompanied by time codes, which, in essence, represents the division of large programs into thematic segments.
Among other things, convenience is that the portal is available for use on any device: computer, TV, smartphone.
